Android Health Connect + RadiantHealth
Health Connect is Android's standardised health-data hub. If you use Samsung Health, Fitbit (Android), Google Fit, Polar Flow, or any of a dozen other apps, Health Connect is how their data reaches RadiantHealth. One permission prompt, many sources.
Why Health Connect?
Google is consolidating the Android health ecosystem. Rather than us building a bespoke integration with every wearable vendor, Android vendors publish their data into Health Connect, and apps like RadiantHealth read from it. The end result: pick the watch / ring / scale you like, and it just works.
Apps that write to Health Connect (non-exhaustive)
- Samsung Health (Galaxy Watch series)
- Fitbit (Android app)
- Google Fit
- Polar Flow
- Peloton, Zwift, Strava (workouts)
- Withings (scale + sleep mat)
- MyFitnessPal, Cronometer (nutrition — not used for coaching yet, stored only)

How to connect
- Make sure Health Connect is installed on your Android device (it's pre-installed on Android 14+).
- In Health Connect, confirm your wearable app (Samsung Health, Fitbit, etc.) is writing data — there's a "Data sources" list.
- Open RadiantHealth, go to Settings → Data sources → Link Health Connect.
- Android shows a permission sheet listing the record types we request. Approve.
- We read the last 90 days in the background on first link, then sync on every coach turn.
Why use Health Connect vs. a direct integration?
If you have a Garmin or Oura, link them directly (via /integrations/garmin or /integrations/oura) rather than through Health Connect. Direct integrations give us webhook-driven real-time data and richer metrics.
Health Connect is the right choice when your primary wearable is Samsung, Fitbit, Polar, or a combination of sources feeding into the Android ecosystem — or when you want a single "allow" prompt to cover everything.
Privacy
Health Connect permissions are granular: you approve or deny each record type individually, and you can revoke any of them at any time from Android Settings → Health Connect → RadiantHealth. Revoking a record type immediately stops new reads; tap Delete data in the app to purge previously stored readings.
