Garmin + RadiantHealth
Garmin is the best single source for RadiantHealth. One device covers workouts, sleep, HRV, and training load — so your first coach briefing is meaningful within 48 hours of linking.
What Garmin gives the coach
| Garmin metric | Used by the coach for |
|---|---|
| Activities (HR, power, pace, duration) | TSS → CTL / ATL / TSB computation |
| Overnight HRV status | Readiness score (highest weight) |
| Resting heart rate | Readiness · illness detection |
| Sleep events (stages, efficiency, WASO) | Recovery recommendations |
| Morning readiness / body battery | Second-opinion sanity check on our readiness score |
| Training load & training status | Cross-check against our TSB-based TSB label |
| Stress score | Lifestyle context (flagged but not used as a coaching input in isolation) |
How to connect
- Open the app, go to Settings → Data sources.
- Tap Link Garmin. You'll be redirected to Garmin Connect.
- Approve the read scope. You're sent back to the app automatically.
- The app triggers a historical backfill (last 90 days) in the background — usually done in ≤ 60 seconds.
- Going forward, Garmin push-notifies us via webhooks within seconds of each sync.
Supported Garmin devices
Any Garmin device that uploads to Garmin Connect works. For the full coaching signal set we recommend a device with overnight HRV:
- Forerunner 255/265/965 and later
- Fenix 7/8 series
- Epix Pro
- Venu 3 series
- Vivoactive 5
- Enduro 3
- MARQ Gen 2
Older devices without overnight HRV still work — the coach will fall back to resting HR and sleep efficiency for the HRV component of readiness and flag has_sufficient_data: false if too many signals are missing.
What changes after you link
- Within minutes: your 90-day history is pulled. If you've been training consistently, TSB is available immediately.
- Next morning: first real morning briefing lands. It'll likely be cautious on day one — the coach needs 5–7 days to calibrate your personal baselines.
- After ~2 weeks: the readiness score stabilises and the coach becomes noticeably more aggressive on green days.
Pair with Strava?
If you also ride on Zwift or use Peloton/RGT, link Strava too. Strava will cover the sessions Garmin missed (rides that only recorded on Zwift, for example). We de-duplicate overlapping sessions automatically by matching start time + duration within a 2-minute tolerance.
Pair with Google Calendar?
Strongly recommended. The coach can see meetings and, with your permission, write confirmed sessions back to your calendar as events. Useful for planning long rides and for protecting morning sessions from late-scheduled meetings.
Revoking access
Settings → Data sources → Garmin → Disconnect. We immediately invalidate the token. If you also tap Delete data, we purge every Garmin-sourced reading from your account within 24 hours.
